HOW DO I GET MY HANDS ON A QUILT?
There are three ways to get your hands on a one-of-a-kind piece of art, design and craft:
1. Choose a rÿcheous original design. These quilts are made-to-order, so no two are ever the same! Personalize these designs with silkscreening or fragments of your old rock tees.
2. Commission a kick-ass custom quilt. Have Quiltsrÿche pattern a completely unique quilt for you from scratch. I'll go balls-to-the-wall to craft a one-off creation you'll love more than your own mother.
3. Take home a ready-to-go quilt. There's no wait for quilts featured for sale on this site. A ready-to-go quilt may not match your curtains, but it will have enough character and craftsmanship to captivate you year after headbanging year.
HOW DO YOU PRICE YOUR QUILTS?
Each quilt is lovingly made-to-order and constructed piece-by-piece over the course of several weeks. Pricing is based on size and complexity of the pattern. Custom quilts include an extra fee for design time and pattern-making. Please email for pricing.
HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE?
Quiltsrÿche is a one-woman rock show. Things take a while. Turnaround time is approximately 3 to 5 months from receipt of deposit. Please email me for current wait time.
HOW CAN I PERSONALIZE A QUILT?
Color: What's your favorite color? Yeah, besides black. I will do my best to accommodate your color preferences. When selecting fabric for your quilt, I employ a "use what ya got" strategy — much like the quiltmakers of yesteryear. Sorry, I do not offer a swatch service.
Your old t-shirts: Your beloved collection of concert tees, when pieced together in a quilt, transforms a lifetime of rock memories into a priceless heirloom piece. Mail me a box of your smelly Motörhead tees and I'll give them a rÿcheous repurposing.
Silkscreening: Want a silkscreened motif added to your quilt? Pentagrams, goat heads, barbed wire or bloody swords? Just give me a reason to wield a squeegee!
HOW ARE YOUR QUILTS MADE?
Quiltsrÿche uses 100% cotton fabrics, though some of the vintage fabrics are blends. All fabrics are pre-washed in my totally awesome front-loading washer. Quiltsrÿche believes guitars should be electric, and quilts should be machine-pieced and machine-quilted. You won't find complicated blue ribbon-winning stitching on a Quiltsrÿche quilt. You will find straightforward linear quilting that is durable and adds that totally killer juxtaposition of handmade and industrial.
WHAT ABOUT THE QUILT'S BACK?
Will your Quiltsrÿche quilt live on your bed or on your wall? Request a rod pocket to be sewn on the back if you'd like it to hang. Quilt backs feature three stripes in coordinating or complementary colors. Let me know your color preferences for the binding and back of your quilt.
WHAT ARE YOUR PAYMENT TERMS?
A deposit of 50% is required before I start work on your quilt. A PayPal invoice will be emailed to you. Deposits are non-refundable 14 days after receipt of order confirmation. The remaining balance is due upon receipt of final invoice, which includes applicable taxes and shipping costs. Your insured quilt will be delivered via UPS with a signature required.
HOW DO I CARE FOR MY QUILT?
Quiltsrÿche quilts are designed and constructed to be a joyful part of your everyday life. They can handle gentle wear and tear, but never enter the pit with one tied around your neck as a cape — as cool as that would look, your quilt will never be the same. Basically, handle your quilt with care as you would any exquisite evil rock textile. To maintain your quilt's color intensity, keep it out of direct sunlight, and minimize washing. Quilts may be washed in cold water on a gentle cycle with a gentle quilt soap and a pinch of dust from a warlock's beard. Remove the quilt from the machine and spread it flat on a clean sheet that has been placed out of direct sunlight. Let it air-dry using a fan and a playing of Ride The Lightning to speed the process.
